JSON to YAML converter
Paste JSON and get clean YAML for config files, Kubernetes manifests or CI workflows. Pick 2 or 4 spaces, or Minified for compact one-line YAML.
Safe for every reader
Strings like yes, on or 010 are quoted, so YAML 1.1 tools such as PyYAML don't turn them into booleans or numbers.
Long lines stay whole
Long strings are kept on one line instead of being folded, so the YAML diffs cleanly.
Fix first
Got JSON with comments or trailing commas? Use Fix JSON, then convert.

Questions
Why are some strings in quotes?
YAML 1.1 readers, including PyYAML and many older tools, read yes, no, on, off, y, n and numbers with leading zeros as booleans or numbers. Those strings are quoted so every YAML reader gets the same text back.
Can I choose the indentation?
Yes. 2 or 4 spaces (YAML doesn't allow tabs), or Minified for flow style on one line, like {a: 1, b: [x, y]}.
Is my data uploaded?
No. Everything is converted in your browser. Nothing you paste is uploaded or stored; only your layout and option choices are remembered.
